Handcrafted with care, the five golden Christmas candles are richly decorated. As an homage to craftsmanship under Louis The XIV, gold arabesques, reminiscent of Versailles ironworks and gates adorn the Trudon emblem. This pattern is revealed on the glass thanks to a delicate sanding method, to remove the gold foil through a stencil, before the application of a festive paint inside.
If cacao is an homage to Bayonne, chilli pepper is an homage to the neighboring town of Espelette, known for its Piment d’Espelette. Chilli pepper and Cocoa were imported from Latin America around the same period. The Bayonne Candle is also imagined by the joys of Christmas, the pine notes naturally paying homage to the end of year celebrations.
