Note: Espelette pepper, also known as Piment d'Espelette, is a rare red chili pepper grown in the Basque region of France. Prized for its unique flavor profile, both fruity and slightly smoky with a moderate heat. Peppers are traditionally harvested late summer and and hung to dry allowing them to develop a smoky flavor similar to paprika. Once dried, the peppers may be used whole or ground into a powder to season a variety of dishes.
